VOICE

An Exploration:

Voice is raw; it’s reactive. Voice encompasses all the channels through which the internal thoughts and feelings of one person become public. This collection of sculptural work, Voice, creates the mental leap between hearing voice and visualizing the space that sound and voice take up. The pieces address and validate a variety of different experiences people may associate with both the internal and external use of their voices, connecting the ideas of autonomy, access to voice, and the value of visibility. The work encompasses an arc of communication between fear/shame and empathy/connection.
